Session 1: Introduction to Emotions Through Art


  • Objectives

  - Introduce the group and establish a safe environment.

  - Begin exploring emotions using art.


  • Activities:

  - Icebreaker: Name your favorite color and how it makes you feel.

  - Art Project: Create an “Emotion Wheel” using colors and drawings to represent different feelings.

  - Group Discussion: Share the emotion associated with their color choices.

Session 2: Understanding and Expressing Emotions


  • Objectives

  - Deepen understanding of emotions and learn to express them.


  • Activities:

  - Reading: Read a children’s book that focuses on emotions (e.g., "The Way I Feel").

  - Art Project: Draw a picture that represents a time they felt a strong emotion.

  - Sharing Circle: Encourage each child to share their drawing and discuss the emotion depicted.

Session 3: Social Skills Basics: Manners, emotions and Communication

  - Learn essential social skills such as manners and effective communication.


  • Activities:

  - Role-Playing: Practice polite greetings and saying “please” and “thank you.”

  - Game: “Manners Charades” where kids act out scenarios (e.g., sharing, waiting their turn).

  - Group Reflection: Discuss how using manners can help make friends.

  • Activities:

  - Transition Practice: Discuss new routines or changes coming up (e.g., starting school).

  - Station Play: Set up different play stations (e.g., building blocks, pretend play) to encourage cooperative play.

  - Reflection: Share feelings about the activities and how to handle changes.
