Every person experiences at least one traumatic event in his/her lifetime. For some people, reactions to a traumatic event are temporary, but others who have been exposed to acute and chronic traumas are at greater risk of developing distressing symptoms of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and grief, which lead to impairments in daily functioning and relationship with others. I have experience working with children, families, adults, and older adults with high-crisis, high-intensity, and co-occurring / co- morbid challenges such as medical issues, substance use, developmental delayed, cognitive deficits, and severe mental illness at inpatient, outpatient, community, and school-based settings.

My theoretical orientation is rooted in attachment therapy and I work from a trauma- informed, trauma-focused, person-centered, and strength-based perspective. My focus is on building on the clients’ strengths and resilience and fortifying the clients’ natural support system in the context of their environments and communities. I am trained in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp), EMDR, Graved Disability, and LPS Conservatorship. It is my goal to mentor other therapists through trauma-informed principles through support, consultation, and clinical supervision. In my spare time, I enjoy baking, gardening, traveling, hiking, walking, and photography.
