Susie Romero, AMFT

Seeking counseling can be a difficult journey for everyone simply because it varies from person to person. It isn’t always easy to find that right fit in a counselor. There is also no single approach to counseling that fits every single individual.  My approach is tailored to meet the needs of each individual in their own journey.  I invite you to take a risk on exploring optimal living for your life.

I have passion in helping couples learn how to have gentle confrontations, take accountability, and practice repair skills in place of negative, repetitive patterns. I help parents understand and navigate the complexity of having difficult conversations with their children. I have patience and passion to navigate the pain and suffering of children and adolescents who experienced trauma and loss in early childhood in order to help them reformulate and give perspective to these experiences.

I continue to learn the importance of cultural humility and the need to understand the differing views that take place within families. I am sensitive to those seeking services when it may go against their norm.  However, I hope to help you explore how you live within the two worlds without feeling as if you are giving up one or the other.

I am especially sensitive to the loss associated with infertility and pregnancy. These forms of loss represent a silent journey of repeated losses not only for both partners. In finding meaning that honors your lived experience through the loss and grief so that healing can occur for you and the ones you love.
