Patricia Conteh RN, MSN, PMHNP-BC

I believe that mental health is equivalent to the hard drive on our computer, it controls our entire being. Maintaining our mental health is not always easy. My goal is to help my patients reach their mental health goals...whatever those goals may be. I believe that self-awareness plays an important part in defining our personal mental health goals, it is personal and individual. I see my role as supportive, educational, and nurturing; helping patients choose the right medication for them as an individual. I believe individual therapy is the foundation to reaching that goal, and an integral part of any treatment plan.

I wanted to be a nurse as a little girl growing up in Sierra Leone, West Africa. My grandfather was a physician, and my mother was a nurse. I grew up wanting to have my own nurse stories, like she did, about helping people. I initially graduated as an RN in Scotland. I received my BSN from Moorhead State University in 1994, and MSN from the University of Minnesota in 1997. I am a Board-Certified Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and have been practicing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for over 15 years. I have worked with the entire spectrum of mental illness including depression, anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar, Schizophrenia and other mental illnesses.
