About the Group
The goal of this group is to provide emotional support and reduce isolation for women experiencing infertility. The group will aim to normalize experiences and validate feelings, teach healthy coping strategies, improve communication and relationship skills, and foster hope and resilience.

Week 1: Introduction and Building Trust
Participants will establish group norms and commit to confidentiality to create a safe, respectful space, and introduce themselves to their comfort level, share personal stories. The focus will be to normalize emotions like anger, shame and grief.
Week 2: The Emotional Toll of Infertility
In this session, the group will explore themes of grief, loss, shame, and identity, creating space for honest reflection and connection. Emotional responses will be normalized to reduce stigma and self-judgment. Through shared experiences, members will build empathy and deepen understanding of one another’s journeys.
Week 3: Communication and Relationships
This session will address relational stress and feelings of social isolation, helping participants feel less alone in their experiences. The group will learn communication techniques for navigating sensitive conversations with care and clarity, and will also explore how to set healthy boundaries with unsupportive or triggering individuals to protect their emotional well-being.
Week 4: Coping Strategies for Stress & Anxiety (Navigating Triggers)
Participants will learn practical stress reduction tools and distinguish between maladaptive and adaptive coping strategies. The group will work on identifying common emotional triggers and develop personalized strategies for managing high-stress social situations. Emphasis will be placed on building confidence and empowering members to navigate uncertainty with resilience.
Week 5: Identity, Self-Worth, and the "What-Ifs"
This session will focus on reconnecting with a sense of self-worth that isn’t tied to reproductive status. Members will be supported in challenging self-blame and internalized stigma, fostering a more compassionate self-view. The group will also explore meaning-making and acceptance as part of the healing process.
Week 6: Closure and Reflection
In this final session, the group will celebrate individual and collective growth and resilience. Members will reflect on their personal takeaways and how they've changed throughout the process. The session will provide a sense of closure while offering resources and options for continued support beyond the group.
